A Note Before You Book
Most first-time visitors picture one Africa — a savannah, a waterfall, a postcard. There are dozens, each with its own light, language and rhythm.
Muwuyu started at Victoria Falls, and the Falls remain our home ground. But a trip that stops at one waterfall is a trip that misses the point. So we now build journeys across the wildernesses that define this continent — the granite ruins of a medieval Shona empire, the red dunes of the Namib, the elephant super-herds of the Chobe, the gorillas of the Virunga mist, the wildebeest tide of the Mara-Serengeti. One trip, several countries, no compromise on comfort.

The Maasai Mara & the Mountain Gorillas
South-western Kenya, on the border with Tanzania. This is the reserve the wildebeest reach after the Serengeti, and where a dawn balloon looks down on the river crossings.
Volcanoes National Park
North-western Rwanda, in the Virunga volcanoes a few hours from Kigali. One permit, eight visitors, and an hour with a mountain gorilla family in the bamboo forest.
Serengeti & Ngorongoro
Northern Tanzania. The Serengeti is the grassland the great wildebeest migration crosses. Ngorongoro, on the same road, is a volcanic crater whose floor still holds lion, elephant and rhino.
Kilimanjaro & Zanzibar
Two different Tanzanias. Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain, a walk to 5,895 metres near the Kenyan border. Zanzibar is the Indian Ocean island you fly to afterwards — Stone Town, spice farms and the beach.

Devil's Pool
On Livingstone Island, on the Zambian lip of Victoria Falls, you swim out to a natural rock pool and look straight down the falling water. It only opens when the Zambezi drops, roughly August to January.
Balloon Over the Mara
Before sunrise you lift off over Kenya's Maasai Mara, the reserve that shares a border with the Serengeti. The herds are below you, and breakfast is waiting in the grass when you land.
Gorilla Trekking
Volcanoes National Park, in the mountains of north-west Rwanda, a few hours from Kigali. A ranger walks you through bamboo forest to a gorilla family. One hour, eight visitors, then you leave them to the forest.
Sunrise on Dune 45
A star dune in the Namib, on Namibia's Atlantic side, along the road into Sossusvlei. You climb it in the dark and watch the oldest desert on earth turn from rust to gold.
Chobe Sunset Cruise
An hour from Victoria Falls, on the Chobe River at the northern edge of Botswana. Elephant herds — the densest on earth — wade the channel a few metres from the boat as the river turns copper.
The Private Predator
Born to go unseen.
Ask any tracker: the leopard is the one that gets away. Solitary, silent, master of the shadows — it can lie three metres above your head and you'd never know. Most travellers go home never having seen one at all.
We don't leave it to luck. Our guides read the pug marks, the alarm calls, the stillness in a tree line that means something's watching back — the small signs that turn a passing safari into the moment you finally lock eyes with Africa's most private predator.
